    The Recovery Coach at Scottish Action for Mental Health's (SAMH) in-reach service is a flexible multi-skilled role providing direct emotional wellbeing and practical support to individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

    The role will be based in a low security unit in Stratheden Hospital, working with people on an individual or group basis, in the ward, and in a community setting. The Recovery Coach will work with individuals to identify strengths, issues, and goals, encouraging them to recognise and use their existing strengths, support building new skills, and utilising coaching approaches to build momentum in self-management, personal recovery, and building capacity.

    Assessing individual's strengths and needs, the Recovery Coach will link individuals with meaningful supports within their community. Recovery Coaches will be a role model of recovery and optimism. They are looking for someone who has respect and dignity for the people who use SAMH's services.

    You will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme, and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

    SAMH is looking for someone with great people skills and who is honest, reliable, and resilient in challenging situations.

    Ideally for this role you will have experience supporting people with mental health problems, keyworking, and case management. You will be based in Stratheden Hospital and will be required to work flexibly across other local area services.
