    Fife Council, Fife Voluntary Action, Citizens Advice and Rights Fife, Fife Health And Social Care Partnership, and Cosy Kingdom have partnered to deliver a day of training on poverty awareness for Fife’s third sector workers.

    This full day course will include three training sessions on:

    • Benefits awareness and OurFife Benefits Checker Awareness
    • Energy efficiency and fuel poverty skills awareness session, including child poverty awareness
    • Poverty awareness information session – children and young people

    Fife Benefit Checker & Our Fife Toolkit

    This training provides insight into Fife’s Benefits Checker and an overview of Our Fife Toolkit. 

    Both parts of the training will aid you in discussions with Fife customers, allowing you to help someone achieve their maximum possible entitlements to Welfare Benefits by using a system specifically designed for people living in Fife.

    Poverty Awareness Information Session - Children and Young People

    The aim is to provide an overview of how poverty can impact children and young peoples’ health, education and developmental milestones and how to equip participants with the knowledge to provide practical help and support. 

    Energy Efficiency and Fuel Poverty Skills Awareness Session Child Poverty Awareness

    Cosy Kingdom offers free training for frontline staff and volunteers to help people to stay warm and well.  The training is delivered by Robert Keddie, a qualified energy advisor who has worked in the UK domestic energy sector for over 35 years.  

    Course content includes -

    • Fuel poverty in Fife
    • Introduction to Cosy Kingdom
    • Healthy homes
    • Billing and metering
    • Grants and schemes
    • Condensation and dampness
    • Saving energy
    • Identifying fuel poverty
    • When to refer for support

    After attending the training, you will leave with:

    • Knowledge to help you support your clients & service users who would benefit from basic advice regarding energy efficiency and staying warm and well through winter
    • Skills to empower frontline workers and volunteers to positively impact the lives of others by providing lite-touch energy advice with an early intervention
    • Learners certificate of attendance after completing the training
