    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

Fletchers Foundation provides financial grants that can be used for aids and equipment, rehabilitation treatment, or a whole host of wider uses that will help individuals with their recovery or quality of life.

    You can apply if:

    • You or a member of your family are living with the long-term effects of serious personal injury, medical negligence, or illness
    • You are a registered charity, school or local group working with individuals and families living with the long-term effects of serious personal injury, medical negligence, or illness

Fletchers Foundation will consider requests for funding towards:

    • Aids or equipment
    • Rehabilitation Therapies (physiotherapy/Hydrotherapy/SLT/OTCBT, etc)
    • Prosthetics
    • Counselling for the individual who are suffering from mental health issues because of the serious injury, medical negligence, or illness.
    • Projects, groups, or events that can be proven to make long term-impact. The project, group or event must be in partnership, jointly branded and meet the eligibility criteria.

    Fund award sizes

    Maximum: £10,000

Notes on award amounts: Local community groups with an annual income of less than £50,000 and individuals can apply for up to £10,000.

Registered charities, schools, and community groups with an annual income of more than £50,000 will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

    Who can apply

Local community groups, registered charities, or schools working with individuals and their family with the long-term effects of serious personal injury, medical negligence, or illness.

    Exclusions

INDIVIDUALS They will not consider applications where:

    • The individual is eligible for any compensation award, in the process of claiming or has already received one.
    • The individual is financially able to support themselves, or their families can financially support them.
    • The individual is eligible for getting what they are asking for from the NHS (unless the NHS service or product is deemed to be unsuitable for the individual’s requirements or is not available in a suitable timeframe).
    • The individual doesn’t have at least one referee for the application form. Ideally this will be someone from the individual’s health team such as GP or physiotherapist, a local council representative such as social worker or housing, or a local professional that is not family.
    • The grant is going to be paid into an individual applicant’s bank account (without an invoice, receipt, or proof of purchase).

GROUPS They will not consider applications where:

    • The project, group, or event that the local community group, registered charity, or school is applying for, is eligible for public funding.
    • The project, group, or event that the local community group, registered charity, or school is applying for, has successfully received money from Fletchers Foundation in the last 12 months.
    • The local community group, registered charity, or school is financially able to support themselves.
    • The grant is going to promote/involve any religious or political aspects.
    • The grant is going to be paid into a non-affiliated bank or an individual applicant’s bank account (without an invoice, receipt, or proof of purchase).
    • The grant will pay for the local community group, registered charity, or school’s ‘business as usual’ activity or to replace lost income, rather than go towards the joint project.
