Kingdom Community Bank Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Created: 24/06/2024Kingdom Community Bank celebrates its 20th anniversary on Monday 24 June 2024.
Kingdom originally started in 2004 in Glenrothes as Glenrothes and Levenmouth Credit Union, making savings and loans available to local people.
Since then, Kingdom has went through years of transformation - including becoming a Real Living Wage employer, opening new branches, and pivoting to provide online services in response to the pandemic.
Kingdom Community Bank is a credit union that's owned by its members - people who live and work in Fife just like you.
They are an ethical bank and provide savings, affordable loans, junior accounts, and a payroll savings scheme.
Kingdom has thousands of members across Fife, ranging from 0 to 101 years old, showing it's never too early or too late to start your savings journey.
They also have a 93% approval rate, so if you've been turned down for a loan by a high street bank, you can turn to Kingdom and avoid high-cost lenders and loan sharks who prey on the financially vulnerable.
To top it all off, Kingdom has no shareholders and any profits are paid back to members in dividends, into the community, and back into the bank. Community-led, Kingdom works with local third sector and public sector organisations on a range of initiatives such as talks, events, and raising awareness.
