Costs
This event is free to attend but to encourage attendance and try and ensure a good turnout to benefit all delegates, we will charge a non-attendance fee of £30.00 per delegate. By submitting a booking for this event you agree to pay this fee for those delegates who have places booked but do not attend.
Cancellations can be received up to 5 working days ahead of the event, thus avoiding non-attendance fees. A cancellation will only be valid if we have confirmed it with you. You can send somebody else in place of a booked delegate without incurring a non-attendance fee.
It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.Trustees are the people who are in charge of a charity, sometimes also called Board members or Committee members. Trustees are the lifeblood of our sector - without trustees there would be no charities operating in Fife!
This free training session is designed to help new or potential Trustees to understand their role and responsibilities so that they can enjoy and thrive in their role free from stress or worries by understanding what they can and should be doing. It includes practical examples and time to answer your specific queries.
This course is intended to encourage new and to support existing trustees/board members in the valuable voluntary work they undertake and includes:
- What is governance and why does it matter?
- What could go wrong? Why does it go wrong?
- Understanding the role
- Perceptions & boundaries
- Accountability
- Delegated tasks
- Conflicts of Interest
- Meetings
- Seeking help
Who should attend?
New and existing trustees/board/committee members who want to learn or refresh their knowledge and skills of their role.
Restrictions
To ensure as many trustees/board/committee members as possible have the opportunity to attend, we will restrict places to two per organisation in the first instance.
