It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.This is a course to resource staff who have contact with bereaved people as part of their role, and those who are motivated to improve their empathetic communication skills. This training will build your confidence and insight to the differing expressions of grief responses following bereavement; and support you to convey compassionate responses, whilst demonstrating genuine understanding and support.
Course content:
- Build confidence to communicate with compassion to those who are grieving, following bereavement
- Consider grief in the context of your particular role
- Establish current understanding of grief's purpose, explore processes and models that help individuals' understanding of grief, including the residual impact of the pandemic
- Increase understanding of how grief affects the way we function and communicate throughout the grief process
- Develop an understanding of compassionate conversations which in turn increase confidence in discussing grief themes
- Consider the impact of working with grief themes and how to manage individual self-care and wellbeing
Cruse Scotland is offering training opportunities for organisations and individuals to better understand grief and loss. The courses aim to upskill individuals as well as help create Bereavement-friendly workplaces across Scotland.
