Glenrothes Fire Station - Shaping Our Future Service
Created: 06/05/2024The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is launching a public engagement initiative called “Shaping Our Future Service: Your Say”. As part of this they will be holding public engagement sessions in fire stations across Scotland. They are planning one such session at Glenrothes Fire Station.
They want to hear from members of the public and local community groups about SFRS's approach going forward and finding out what matters most to them.
They’re particularly keen to hear from under-represented groups – such as people with disabilities, older people, minority ethnic groups – people who can be seen as vulnerable in terms of fire safety.
The session, led by uniformed officers, will include a short discussion with attendees on the future of SFRS and what members of the public think their priorities should be in the future. There would then follow a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the station, with crews demonstrating fire appliances and specialist fire equipment, and a chance to chat with crews about the role of a modern day fire service.
The session is 100% free to attend and light refreshments will be provided.
