Enable Works - Next Steps Employability Programme
Created: 25/04/2024Enable's Next Steps programme is a ten-week employability-focused course for young people aged 16-24. The programme is specifically for young people who are not in education or employment and have not gone onto a positive destination after leaving school.
The programme runs in cohorts, with between 10 and 15 young people in each group. The Employment Coordinator meets the group together one day per week with a one-to-one session (if requested).
During the group work sessions, all young people will work towards achieving an SQA Employability Award.
After completing the qualification, each young person will be supported to source a work taster or employer visit to gain an insight into the workplace environment. By the end of the cohort, each young person should be supported to progress into a positive destination. This could be volunteering, training, apprenticeships, or employment.
