News/Events Category: Job VacanciesPost: Personal AssistantJob reference: SDS/BM/270113Salary: £10.90 per hourHours: 30 per week (Monday-Tuesday, 8am-4pm and Wednesday-Thursday, 8am-3pm)Contract: Fixed term (maternity cover)Location: GlenrothesSDS Options is assisting their client to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support to a young female adult with their physical needs and personal care and to ensure that she has an active and enjoyable day by trying to stimulate her with different activities. You will be required to:
- Take her to her clubs and fully assist her whilst at the clubs (i.e. swimming, disco, sports, crafts)
- Administer her daily medications to control her epilepsy or giving emergency medications to stop a seizure
- Prepare meals and help her to eat and drink
- Physically support her (she is unstable on her feet and therefore requires full supervision at all times) if outside the house. She will need the support of your arm/hand to stabilise her. A wheelchair is available if longer distances of walking are required.
About you
You must be PVG registered (can be done prior to commencement of role), have a driving license, and have epilepsy emergency medication training. You will also be physically active and able. Previous experience working with young disabled adults is preferred. You must be able to provide two previous employer references.
Essential requirements are that you are kind, caring and have a good sense of humour.
