    The fund considers small grant applications from UK registered non-profit organisations supporting grassroots projects in diverse and deprived communities. Their current funding themes are:

    • Environment
    • Countryside
    • Social inclusion
    • Health and wellbeing
    • Heritage and conservation
    • Education

    Across all of these funding themes, they are particularly interested in projects in deprived communities across the four nations: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

    Fund award sizes

    Maximum - £5,000

    Who can apply

    To apply for a small grant, your organisation must:

    • Be a UK registered non-profit organisation
    • Have an annual income of less than £1 million
    • Have completed two years of activity
    • Have less than six months free reserves
    • If seeking funding for a project, the total cost of the project should not exceed £200,000


    • Individuals and public bodies
    • Non-profit organisations which are part of a federation
    • Organisations that mainly distribute grants to other organisations
    • Organisations with political associations or interests
    • Cover capital expenditure with the exception of community-based heritage conservation and restoration projects aimed at preserving the fabric of historic buildings

    How to apply

    Complete the pre-screening questionnaire on the Fund website. You can then complete the online application form.

    The closing date for applications is 5.30pm on Monday 19 February 2024.
