WEA is a leading adult education charity that empowers adults by bringing great teaching to local communities across England and Scotland, reaching tens of thousands of learners each year. They believe every adult from a variety of backgrounds should have access to education and its benefits right on their doorstep.
WEA is running Fife Multiply online courses that are free to anyone:
Living, working, volunteering, or studying in Fife
Who does not have a maths qualification at Nat 5/Credit Standard Grade/O-level C+
Learners can build their core numeracy skills through their Crafty Calculations or Getting a Good Deal courses, with the chance to earn digital badges aligned to the SCQF Framework at levels 2-5.
The courses were developed by experienced community learning and development workers, and are aimed specifically at adult learners looking to improve their everyday number skills.
The courses make use of many accessibility features including:
A mastery approach to numeracy learning
1-2-1 or group support from a WEA numeracy champion
Learners can access the courses in bitesize chunks at times to suit via a smartphone, tablet, or any other device. They can also access optional group or 1-2-1 support from our friendly numeracy champion, Larkin.
