This event is being organised by NHS Fife
This particular event is free to attend, so no payment is required.This course aims to help you feel more aware of, and skilled, in ways to promote flourishing in children and young people. Flourishing is another way of saying good mental health or emotional wellbeing. It means being able to enjoy life, to cope with life's difficulties, and to believe that you have something you can give to others.
The course will be facilitated by Dr Wendy Simpson, Health Psychologist from Fife CAMHS Early Intervention Service.
The course will help you to:
- Understand the importance of helping children and young people grow in confidence, to balance their emotions, develop their character strengths, and become more mindful, in order to help them flourish
- Understand the different components of these qualities
- Pay attention to your own mental wellbeing and what helps you to flourish
- Explore various practical tools by which we can help children and young people to flourish
- Reflect on your own experience and learn from each other
The day is full of practical, evidence-based information, introduced and illustrated by slides, videos, and group discussions. You will have plenty of time to reflect in small groups and try out some of the activities.
This course is suitable for anyone who works with children or young people in Fife.

If you'd like to arrange a date for your team to attend this course as a group, please e-mail [email protected] They can arrange training sessions for 8-12 people.
