  • Heids and Herts - Village Creative Awards, North East Fife

    Created: 20/09/2023
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

Heids and Herts Scotland have launched their Village Creative funding that will run through autumn and winter 2023, before completion on 05 April 2024.

There are four Village Creative Awards available within North East Fife worth £650 each, specifically for creative community projects that tackle loneliness and improve community cohesion, wellbeing, and interest in arts and heritage.

Heids and Herts are inviting groups, clubs, associations and organisations to apply for one of these awards.

    Funding Details

    • They are looking for projects that aim to stimulate community cohesion, inclusion, and equality, and tackle the crisis of isolation and loneliness, which effects over 15,000 adults across all communities in North East Fife, and with a theme of celebrating community.
    • Projects can encourage participants to try new art, craft or creative activities, from drawing and painting to performing (drama, singing, interpretive dance), writing poems, recording people's stories, cooking, or creating a memory book. It's entirely up to you what you want to do.
    • A creative professional will oversee your project, and £350 of the bursary is dedicated to paying for ten hours of their time. It is up to you how to split these hours up.
    • The remaining funding will be split between venue hire, materials, and travel.

    How to apply

    • The funding has been secured with a focus to align with our aim to reduce isolation and loneliness in the local communities.  We want your application to suggest ways to use your project to involve people in your area who are vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation.
    • We will ask all successful projects to monitor the success of your project and provide us with feedback.
    • If you already have a professional in mind, please give details in your application; otherwise, we will match you with a suitable candidate.

Applications are to be submitted to Jenni Gudgeon at Heids and Herts via e-mail - [email protected]

Your application should include the following information:

    • Organisation and Project name
    • A summary of the aims of your organisation (250 words max)
    • A description of your creative project idea (350 words max)
    • An outline of your budget
    • Do you have any ideas on how you might invite new participants to your group and how to monitor your project's success regarding loneliness and social isolation?

The closing date for applications is Sunday 05 November 2023.
