Lunchtime Learning – Community Wealth Building
Created: 11/09/2023, Updated: 12/09/2023FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
Community Wealth Building (CWB) is growing rapidly in popularity across local authorities in the UK and is promoted by the Scottish Government:
"Community wealth building (CWB) is a people-centred approach to local economic development, which redirects wealth back into the local economy, and places control and benefits into the hands of local people."
Fife Council and Fife Community Planning Partnership have agreed to implement community wealth building in Fife and have developed an ambitious and wide-ranging plan to do so. Fife Council, other public sector bodies and the third sector will have a stake in the forthcoming opportunities and challenges that community wealth building offers.
At this session Sinead O'Donnell, Policy & Delivery Manager at the Communities Directorate of Fife Council, will tell us more about what community wealth building hopes to achieve in Fife and provide information on some of the key benefits.
Kenny Murphy, FVA's CEO who sits on the Community Wealth Building group for Fife, will also be in attendance to answer any questions.
