Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is Fife’s leading independent advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people for over 25 years. Known for our partnership work, we are delighted to be delivering the Family Approach project alongside Fife Gingerbread and are now recruiting for a Financial Inclusion Caseworker.
This project will deliver a “whole family approach” to parental employment, meaning we will be giving support to families as they start thinking about their journey towards training, education and work.
Alongside a team in Fife Gingerbread comprising of three support workers, a family learning co-ordinator and a team leader, this role will provide specific person-centred financial inclusion support to provide families with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to cope better financially. In particular the successful applicant will provide benefit advice, including maximising income through benefit checks and resolving existing benefit issues. In addition, the post-holder will be required to provide information on future financial circumstances to equip the family for changes when entering training, education or employment.
You will have a good standard of education, high quality personal skills and a desire to improve lives, particularly the lives of vulnerable families and children. Experience of working in an advice giving capacity and/or a knowledge or interest in the social security system would be advantageous but not essential.
You will be able to communicate complex information in a manner easily understood, whilst always mindful of the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Bureau and CARF. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as supporting and delivering on CARF’s vision and values.
Please download the application pack or for an informal discussion contact Laura McNeilly at [email protected] or by phone 01592 765426.
We are committed to Equal Opportunities and applications are welcome from all communities. A Basic Disclosure will be required for this role, funded by CARF.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 11 August with interviews scheduled to take place on 30, 31 August or 01 September.
