Volunteer Managers' Forum and Networking Lunch
Created: 22/06/2023, Updated: 03/08/2023We are delighted to invite you to join us for our first ever networking lunch! You asked for more networking opportunities so we're providing a light, buffet lunch and additional time for you to network with other attendees.
Our usual Volunteer Managers' Forum will continue after lunch, and is open to anyone involved in the recruitment, management or supervision of volunteers in Fife, whether as staff or volunteer.
Volunteer management can be a solitary position; our forums are a great way to meet other people doing a similar role to you and reduce any sense of isolation you may have. The also offer the chance to network (formally and informally), catch up with changes happening in the field, discuss issues you may have, and ask questions of the guest speaker and FVA staff in attendance.
We're all aware of the challenges around volunteer recruitment just now, so we've decided to focus on that topic for this forum. We'll be looking in depth at inclusive volunteering so that we can help you reach the volunteers that you're not currently reaching! Our speaker will be from the Equality Network who work for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) equality and human rights in Scotland. They will also cover intersectionality and the Scottish LGBTI+ Rainbow Mark.
We'll then take time to consider the principles used in inclusive recruitment, to look at other groups of volunteers and we'll share useful resources and create space to share your examples and experiences.
Please also book for the next two forums, also being held in our Glenrothes office, on 23 November 10am-12noon and 12 March 2024, 2.00-4.00pm.
We look forward to seeing you at any/all of these dates!
