Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion - Women in Social Enterprise (online)
Created: 03/05/2023This is Social Enterprise Scotland’s (SES) second event in our EDI series.
The recent Social Enterprise Census 2021 shows us that 71% of the 6,047 social enterprises in Scotland are led by women. SES want to celebrate the impact women have made to the social enterprise sector in Scotland, championing their achievements, despite the disproportionate effect that COVID-19 and the cost-of-living crisis have had on them. We want this contribution to be increasingly recognised by all bodies of influence in Scotland.
We will hear from Sara Cowan, Coordinator at The Scottish Women's Budget Group who work to promote equality through gender budgeting to build a fairer and more equal Scotland and Cassandra Bryant from the University of Guelph who will share her research into women in social enterprise in Scotland. With breakout rooms for more in-depth discussions, we hope to come away from the session with an idea of how the future should look for women in social enterprise across Scotland.

Note: To create a safe space for women to talk openly the event will be for women only. Although Social Enterprise Scotland look forward to sharing the discussions from the session with people of all genders, only women are invited to this session to create a safe space for attendees to reflect and share their experiences.
