Scot Gov publishes new three year policy prospectus

News/Events Category: General NewsThe Scottish Government has published its new policy prospectus, setting out how the government will deliver for Scotland over the next three years. The prospectus focuses on a commitment to deliver on three central missions centered on the themes of equality, opportunity and community.
Here are some highlights from the document that may be of interest to third sector staff and communities. These actions are planned to take place between 2023 - 2026:
- progressing Fairer Funding arrangements, including exploring options to implement multi-year funding deals, enabling the third sector to secure the resilience and capacity it needs to support the transformation and delivery of person-centred services
- confirmation of a further £1.3 billion investment for the Scottish Child Payment over the next three years
- tripling the Fuel Insecurity Fund to £30 million for 2023-24
- introducing Scotland’s first National Transitions to Adulthood Strategy to ensure there is a joined-up approach to supporting our disabled young people as they make the transition to adult life
- publishing a Rural Delivery Plan - covering and developing areas around rural transport, housing (a Remote, Rural and Island Housing Action Plan), social justice, repopulation, digital connectivity, and economic development
- confirmation of a six-month pilot removing peak-time fares from ScotRail services from October to make rail travel more accessible, available, and affordable.
