  • Greener Kirkcaldy - Sessional Walk Leader

    Created: 27/03/2023
    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

    Post: Sessional Walk Leader

Hours: Around 4-8 hours per month on a flexible basis, including some Saturday work.

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. The team delivers a range of projects, events, and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people - building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.

Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy - with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden - Greener Kirkcaldy carries out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife. Bike, Walk, Move This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Engagement Team to support our Bike, Walk, Move project.

This project will inspire people from all backgrounds to reduce their carbon emissions by driving less and cycling and walking more, as well as giving them the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to walk for everyday local journeys. The project will also reduce inequalities by working with local groups and organisations to engage with, and make our activities accessible to, a diverse range of audiences, as well as reach people in areas with high levels of deprivation.

The purpose of the role is to work with Greener Kirkcaldy's Community Engagement Team on its Bike, Walk, Move project to deliver a walking programme of free, short, low intensity, safe and social walks.

The team is looking for someone who has experience in developing and leading walks. You will have experience working with people and volunteers from all backgrounds so they receive a valuable and enjoyable experience. Most importantly, the team is looking for someone who is flexible, has a positive approach, a willingness to get stuck in and a passion for connecting people through gentle outdoor exercise. You will also have excellent communication skills and the flexibility to work with our team and volunteers.

For more information and to apply, please visit the organisation's website.

The closing date for applications is 12:00 on Friday 07 April 2023.

The Greener Kirkcaldy team does not accept late applications. Interviews will take place on Friday 14 April 2023. If you would like to discuss this post informally, please contact Craig Leitch by e-mailing [email protected]
