Lunchtime Learning - Fife Benefits: Supporting Businesses to Benefit Communities
Created: 07/03/2023, Updated: 08/03/2023Join us at this session to formally launch and find out more about Fife Benefits - our online approach to matching local communities and good causes with businesses with the aim of maximising community benefits across the Kingdom.
As part of Fife's ongoing commitment to Community Wealth Building, Fife Voluntary Action (FVA) and partners want to ensure that community benefits are maximised in our local procurement processes.
A community benefit can be many things, but it is simply defined as a measurable uplift, upscale, and improvement in things, services, and places that local people identify as being important to them and their communities (such as reparations/improvements to community spaces, sourcing excess materials/items, and/or various types of logistical support) - this list is not exhaustive.
This is why, in partnership with NHS Fife and Public Health Scotland, we have developed Fife Benefits - an online portal that enables communities to put forward worthy proposals to fill local needs and wants while allowing businesses to consider these requests and decide for themselves what projects they can best assist with and in what way.
This approach aims to enable the flow of local procurement spend to go further in improving the economic, social and/or environmental wellbeing of our communities. This new portal is easy for groups to access and will maximise the potential for needs to be met.
At this Lunchtime Learning session, we and representatives from NHS Fife and Public Health Scotland will introduce you to Fife Benefits and its aims. We'll guide you through how the online portal works for communities and businesses.
