Lunchtime Learning - Integrated Regional Employability and Skills Programme
Created: 06/02/2023, Updated: 13/03/2023FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
The Integrated Regional Employability and Skills (IRES) Programme is a £25m change programme supporting funded through the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal. The programme aims to evolve regional labour market policy and practice in order to support inclusive growth across the city region. Prosperity and success are not universal across the region - 22.4% of children are living in poverty; there is a lack of mid-market and affordable housing; and too many people are unable to move on from low wage/low skill jobs. The IRES Programme intends to reduce inequalities and create new economic opportunities.
At this session, Adam Dunkerley from Enterprise, Planning and Protective Services at Fife Council will tell us about the IRES Programme and the seven projects that have been implemented:
• Integrated knowledge management systems
• Labour market analysis and evaluation
• Integrated employer engagement
• Intensive family support service
• Housing, Construction and Infrastructure (HCI) Skills Gateway
• Data-Driven Innovation (DDI) Skills Gateway
• Workforce mobility
