    Are you from a black and minority ethnic community and seeking a career in social housing? A Housing Traineeship is available with Kingdom Housing Association (KHA), Saltire Centre, Pentland Court, Glenrothes, Fife, KY6 2DA.

    PATH (Scotland) is offering a thirty-six-month Positive Action Training Scheme, which has been specifically designed to redress the under-representation of black and minority ethnic communities in employment in Scottish Housing. PATH works in collaboration with Local Authority Housing Departments and Registered Social Landlords across Scotland to provide housing training opportunities. This traineeship is in partnership with Kingdom Housing Association, which provides housing and support throughout East Central Scotland.

    The team have plans for a significant expansion of their housing stock over the next five years. The Training involves Thirty-six months’ work experience/specialist qualifications and professional membership. The training allowance of £15,870.40 per year for 4 days/week is tied to the Scottish Living Wage. This allowance is exempt from tax and national insurance. At the end of the programme, trainees can compete for jobs in the Scottish Housing sector.

    Applicants should be:

    • from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities and committed to a housing career; and
    • willing to undertake a demanding training and study programme over thirty-six months - 4 days’ work experience (between Monday and Friday), which includes 1-day attendance at college or university during the academic year.

    Applicants should have:

    • excellent communication skills;
    • full driving licence and access to their own vehicle;
    • flexible attitude to work;
    • ability to work under pressure;
    • ability to work with minimal supervision; and
    • a commitment to teamwork • experience of using digital office suites.

    The closing date for applications is 12:00 on Monday 13 February 2023. Interviews will be held on Monday 20 February 2023 within a KHA's office - location to be confirmed.
