  • Call for views on the disability employment gap

    Created: 12/01/2023
    News/Events Category: General News

The Economy and Fair Work Committee at the Scottish Parliament has launched a call for views to hear from the public about what more can be done to ensure disabled people can access employment.

The Committee is doing some initial work at the start of 2023 to identify and address barriers that limit the ability of disabled people to participate fully in Scotland’s labour market. This initial work will feed into further work later in the year.

If you would like to submit a written view, then the call for views can be accessed here. The call for views closes on 16 February 2023.

If you choose to respond, you don’t need to answer all the questions, only those you have a view on. We welcome written views in English, Gaelic, Scots or any other language.

A BSL and easy-read version of the call for views is being prepared and will be published in January - we will share this link when it becomes available.

Alongside written evidence, the Committee will also take oral evidence and carry out external engagements before hearing from the relevant Scottish Government Minister in early February.  Any views provided by the end of January will be made available for the evidence session with the Minister.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with the clerking team at [email protected]
