    ENABLE Scotland's new travel training programme, in partnership with Smarter Choices, Smarter places, is now available for the people you support to access.

    The aim is to help people who have a learning disability aged 16+ to develop confidence and capability using public transport, supporting them to become an independent, sustainable traveller.

    ENABLE has developed training in five key areas:-

    1. Travelling Sustainably
    2. Travelling Independently
    3. Travelling Safely
    4. Travel Planning
    5. Travel Buddies and the ENABLE Me app

    As part of the training, your service user will need to choose a travel buddy who will:

    • Help them plan their journey;
    • Use the ENABLE Me travel app; and
    • Support them to become a confident, independent and sustainable traveller.

    The travel buddy can be anyone from their network – a family member, friend, PA, or someone they trust to help them travel!
