  • Festive Period Benefit Payment Dates

    Created: 21/12/2022
    News/Events Category: General News

Some payment dates for benefits that Social Security Scotland administer will be different over Christmas and New Year due to bank holiday dates.

If the expected payment date is between 24 December and 06 January, people will receive a text message closer to the time advising them of when they will receive their payment.

Bank holiday dates for the 2022/2023 festive period are:

    • Monday 26 December
    • Tuesday 27 December (replacement Christmas Day bank holiday)
    • Monday 02 January (replacement New Year’s Day holiday)
    • Tuesday 03 January (02 January replacement holiday)

Due to industrial action by the Royal Mail, some people may receive a payment into their bank account before getting a letter. Payments that are due to be paid over this festive period and when people can expect to receive them are as follows.
