  • Cold Weather Payment in Scotland is changing

    Created: 21/12/2022
    News/Events Category: General News

The Scottish Government is planning to introduce the new Winter Heating Payment to help eligible people who might have extra heating costs during the winter.

This new payment will replace Cold Weather Payment from the Department for Work and Pensions. It will provide a reliable £50 payment every winter to around 400,000 people on low incomes to help with their heating expenses. The payment will be made regardless of the temperature.

Payments will start to be paid automatically from February 2023.
