  • Residential weekends for young people living in rural Fife

    Created: 13/10/2022, Updated: 14/10/2022

Fife is part of a co-operation project, which is looking to bring young people together from different parts of rural Scotland (Cairngorms, Orkney, Outer Hebrides, Shetland and Forth valley and Lomond’s).

The purpose of the project is to discuss the challenges of growing up and living in a rural area and how these can be addressed.  As part of the project, which Fife Council is coordinating in Fife, there will be 2 residential weekends where young people from different areas can meet, work together and identity ways to improve services in rural areas.  The group can then look to reflect and build upon how young people shape policy in rural Scotland.

The first residential weekend will be in the Cairngorms 11 – 13 November inclusive and the second in Orkney 10 -12 March. The costs of travel and accommodation will all be covered by the project. This is an opportunity for 4 young people accompanied by members of their Local Action Group.

For more information or if you have any young people interested, please contact Ashley Paul (Policy Officer, Community Investment Team, Fife Council) via e-mail: [email protected] or telephone: 03451 55 55 55 + Ext 493011 (Direct Line).
