Hours: 9 hours per week to be worked flexibly over 2 days
Location: Glenrothes
Essential requirements: Previous experience working with people with autism.
Desirable requirements: Driving licence with access to own car.
SDS Options Fife is currently recruiting for a Companion/Personal Assistant to assist a 37-year-old gentleman with autism with a real passion for fast cars; who enjoys watching stock car and rally racing especially. He often visits Cowdenbeath to watch racing and also Knockhill and Crail.
He enjoys cooking and listening to music from many different eras and activities inclusive of fishing, bowling and going to the cinema.
You will be required to assist the client with the following:
- Provision of support with his day-to-day living to support and promote his independence.
- Accompanying to social activities and appointments.
- Preparation of meals.
- Assisting with personal hygiene.
- Assisting with medication.
About you:
- You must have a caring nature, be patient and calm and be able to support and encourage him when he is feeling low and demotivated.
- Be resilient and able to support him when he feels angry and has mood swings.
- Be outgoing with a positive outlook and be able to motivate him.
- Have a passion for cars and music.
- Be friendly and outgoing with a good sense of humour.
