Hours: Flexible – Mornings approx. 08:00 – 09:30. (M-F) More hours available per week to provide respite sessions to allow the wife to go out and about/see to personal needs.
Salary: £10.50 per hour
Location: Cardenden, Fife
Contract: Permanent
Useful qualifications: Previous experience of providing personal care, preferred but not essential.
Additional information: This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
SDS Options Fife is currently recruiting for a Personal Assistant to assist a fun-loving, 77-year-old gentleman with Dementia. He has a great sense of humour and enjoys music, a blether and a good joke or two.
He is living at home supported by his wife who is essentially looking for another pair of hands to help her with:
- Assisting with getting out of bed and ready for the day
- Provision of personal care inclusive of getting showered, washed and dressed
- Assisting with preparation of breakfast
- Respite session could involve some music/movement activity
- Occasional Sunday to allow church attendance
About you:
- You must have a caring nature with an awareness of support required.
- Respect dignity when assisting with personal care.
- Be friendly and outgoing with a good sense of humour.
