    Post:  Community Kitchen Assistant (over 25 years old)

    Hours: 31.5 hours per week on a flexible basis, Monday - Friday. This role also includes occasional Saturday and evening work.

    Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity and development trust working locally to combat the climate emergency, tackle fuel poverty and food insecurity, and bring people together for a more sustainable Kirkcaldy.

    The organisation is keen to help local people who have experienced barriers to progress into fair work in an inclusive and friendly environment. It has an opportunity for a 26-week placement in the role of Community Kitchen Assistant (over 25 years old) in the Lang Spoon Community Kitchen. Its Community Training Kitchen has 8 workstations and offers training, volunteer and work experience opportunities, community cooking classes and a wide range of events, courses and workshops on all aspects of food and drink. This role will involve working as part of a small team to:

    • Help to deliver a range of community food activities to people.
    • Maintain the kitchen environment and equipment to a high standard.
    • Organise and maintain storage areas.
    • Provide support to volunteers and participants taking part in activities.
