Want to join a new peer mentor programme? Check out Sustrans' Active Mentoring programme!
Created: 08/06/2022, Updated: 09/06/2022Sustrans invites people working in Community Organisations to apply to its new peer mentor programme - Activate Mentoring - which is an opportunity for those groups already doing fantastic work encouraging their local community to walk, wheel and cycle to share their knowledge with other organisations.
Mentors will receive training from the Scottish Mentoring Network and a continuing professional development certificate. In addition, there will be regular knowledge-sharing events with other mentors providing opportunities to network.
Mentees will receive support and guidance from their mentor to develop or expand on an activity they want to do in their community.
All participants are also invited to join the Active Travel Hub Network, which provides a range of resources and events to support them to get people moving actively.
Applications are now open for both mentors and mentees. Find out more on the active travel hub network website, and apply now using the links below.
Sustrans will pay expenses for mentoring meetings and can also arrange other types of training- such as fundraising, project management, or a cycle trainer certification- as part of the programme if a need is identified during the mentoring process.
The first round of mentor training will take place on 23 June and 12 July. Participants need to attend both sessions, with a short online learning module in between) Following this, the team will match mentors with a mentee. If you have a great project and want to share your learning with others, sign up now at the link above.
