It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers, and their partners, interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

Being an unpaid carer for someone because of illness, disability, frailty or addiction is something that affects many of us at one point or another in our lives and it can have significant impacts on the life of the person providing care. As service providers, we need to think carefully about how we best support people who are struggling invisibly with the burdens of life through their role as an adult carer.  This includes being able to identify them as carers to start with.

At this session, Lesley Childs, Deputy Manager at Fife Carers Centre will help us understand:

    •   What does being a ‘carer’ mean - and how to identify people with caring responsibilities
    •   An overview of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016
    •   Help available from Fife Carers Centre for carers and how to access it
    •   How to find other forms of support for carers in Fife
