    The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are providing 1-hour long  training sessions over May and June to assist practitioners visiting vulnerable clients in their homes as part of Fife's Adult Protection strategy - assisting in the layperson's assessment of potential fire risks and instructions will be also given on how to refer clients for a Home Fire Safety Visit.

    Learning outcomes –

    • An understanding of the most common causes of dwelling fires and risk groups
    • Awareness of fire hazards to look out for when visiting client’s homes
    • Details of services and equipment the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service can provide
    • Overview of the new Scottish Government smoke alarm legislation
    • Instructions on the referral pathway for requesting Home Fire Safety Visits

    Aims –

    • Increase staff awareness of fire risks in client’s, and their own, homes
    • Increase numbers of partner referrals for home fire safety visits
    • Increase the safety of the clients you work with
    • Reduce accidental harm from fire

    These sessions wil lbe suitable for any practitioners likely to be visiting vulnerable clients who may be at higher risk of fires in the home.

    Dates and times for this training are as below: 

    • Monday 16 May, 9:30 – 10:30
    • Tuesday 24 May, 9:30 – 10:30
    • Thursday 02 June, 9:30 – 1030
    • Wednesday 15 June, 1:30 – 2:30

    There is no cost to attend these sessions.
