Mental Health Awareness Week (09 - 15 May 2022)
Created: 27/04/2022, Updated: 29/04/2022Mental Health Awareness Week (09 - 15 May 2022) is an annual event where there is an opportunity for the whole of the UK to focus on achieving good mental health.
This year’s theme is loneliness. According to the Mental Health Foundation: “Loneliness is affecting more and more of us in the UK and has had a huge impact on our physical and mental health during the pandemic. Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health and we need to find better ways of tackling the epidemic of loneliness. We can all play a part in this. So, in May 2022, we will be raising awareness of the impact of loneliness on our mental wellbeing and the practical steps we can take to address it. Reducing loneliness is a major step towards a mentally healthy society”.
Fife Health and Social Care Partnership Health Promotion Service, in partnership with a range of services, including FVA, has organised a number of drop-in sessions on MS Teams throughout the week to support workers and practitioners in Fife. These sessions aim to provide more information about the campaign, local support available, and ideas about how we can work together to tackle loneliness in Fife.
The sessions include:

We look forward to sharing content that focuses on the work that we do to alleviate loneliness. This includes our support to volunteers, Peer Support Network, the Lived Experience Team, and our Fife Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
We'll be sharing content on our social media platforms - Twitter and Facebook - as well as taking part in a radio campaign with Kingdom FM and the above information session.
