Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance - Community Fundraising Officers x 2
Created: 30/03/2022Post: Community Fundraising Officers x 2
Salary: £22,000 - £28,000
Location: Home-based – Fife and Argyll/ Inverclyde
SCAA is Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance and an integral part of Scotland’s frontline emergency response network, working in partnership with the Scottish Ambulance Service. However, as a national charity, SCAA do not receive statutory government funding and are entirely reliant on public donations to fuel their life-saving flights.
Crews of dedicated and highly-skilled pilots and paramedics are airborne within minutes of an emergency call and respond to trauma incidents and medical emergencies across the country, covering an area of more than 30,000 square miles, with services that save and improve lives across Scotland every day.
From accidents in the mountains, on roads or even at amateur sporting events, SCAA can be called upon and on average they respond to one time-critical emergency call out every single day. In 2021, SCAA responded to 810 emergency call outs – 40% were trauma cases and almost 20% were cardiac related. Since they began operating in 2013, SCAA have responded to over 3760 time-critical call outs.
Funded by donations from the people of Scotland, it is imperative that SCAA has an amazing fundraising team who can generate the income to support their amazing life-saving services. It is recruiting two Community Fundraising Officers – one will be home-based in Argyll or Inverclyde and be responsible for these areas as well as Dumfries & Galloway, Ayrshire and Arran. The other position will be home-based in Fife, and cover this area as well as Edinburgh, Lothians and Borders.
These roles will build and strengthen the connection between SCAA and local communities. They require people who are outgoing, passionate about this life-saving service and capable of developing excellent local relationships, creating opportunities to give, and positioning SCAA as the charity of choice within the community.
In this role, you will get to work closely with volunteers, community groups, individuals, and schools to increase brand awareness, maximise supporter engagement and drive fundraising in your region. This is an amazing and exciting opportunity to work with an incredible charity, have real diversity in your day-to-day and know your work will directly impact on life-saving services in Scotland.
