PVG checks will be required of all successful applicants; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector and as part of our compliance checks, all candidates will be asked, if successful, to undergo a risk assessment based on underlying conditions due to Covid-19 and all new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of their start date.    Please note that Care workers have been absolutely critical to the pandemic response, giving vulnerable people the care they need and avoiding further pressure falling on the NHS.  Therefore, the Scottish Government is funding both SSSC registration and PVG checks for any new staff joining the social care workforce till 31 March 2022.
