A new project from Pink Saltire will aim to improve the wellbeing of LGBT+ people in Fife throughout the Spring.

This month sees the launch of ‘Rainbow Kingdom’ by the charity, with a focus on coaching and personal development for adults and a series of events to help people learn new skills.

Thanks to support from the Fife Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, from The Scottish Government and Fife Voluntary Action, ‘Rainbow Kingdom’ launches on Monday 07 March with a programme to boost coaching skills for individuals within the region.

The coaching programme is being led by local wellbeing professional, Keith Tanner, who brings over 30 years of coaching experience in the public, private and social sectors.

Announcing the new project today, charity founder, Stuart Duffy said:

“This new initiative further strengthens the wellbeing strand of our work for LGBT+ people in Fife and we’re really excited to be delivering something new for the region.”

“With a programme of ‘come and try’ activities coming up in late March and across the whole of April, we hope people will enjoy trying something new, coming together again as a community – it’s something we’ve all missed over the last 2 years! Our coaching programme with Keith Tanner is also a fantastic opportunity to gain some practical experience and techniques to help you achieve a personal goal or objective, or to become a community coach over time.”

The charity also plans to launch a new website as a digital hub for LGBT+ community work in Fife, which will go live later in March. The site will be packed with details on community groups, venues, support groups and useful information for LGBT+ people in the Kingdom.

Pink Saltire is recruiting sessional staff to support this project and other programmes. The charity is behind the development of a new community centre for LGBT+ people in Fife called ‘The Hive’ in Kirkcaldy, now in the final stages of its Phase 1 redevelopment.
