FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local third sector providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
Dementia is a debilitating disease that affects the brain, making it harder to function effectively and remember things or think as clearly as before. It's an umbrella term for over 100 different types of illnesses and disease symptoms. Dementia does not just affect the elderly and it can be difficult for employers to know how to respond to staff experiencing the daily challenges of dementia.
At this session, Ruth McCabe, Project Manager for Dementia Friendly Fife will tell us about:
- What dementia is and what it isn’t
- How employers can help
- Living well with dementia
- How dementia affects people of all ages
- How to see “beyond the person”
