We asked people who attended similar sessions last year, what they liked most about our training - here are some of their comments:
“It was relaxed and friendly - felt at ease participating, sharing and asking questions.”
“I like the group being split into smaller "rooms" on Zoom as it makes it easier to discuss different scenarios.”
“I liked how interactive it was and how we were constantly engaged with activities.”
“The variety of information provided.”
“Clear and concise information.” “Easy pace to follow.”
“How comprehensive it was and how friendly the trainers were.”
“The session was really useful and I have noted a couple of additional points that I feel we need to consider while developing our training.”
“As a person who has been a volunteer but never managed volunteers before, I found the session very informative.”
“I am looking forward to receiving the templates you will provide as a guidance for our own policy and agreements.”
That volunteers are part of your organisation voluntarily is obvious, but do they ever feel an obligation to remain involved? Organisations therefore need to consider ways in which they may (consciously or unconsciously) be creating a 'contract' between themselves and their volunteers. This course will help you to identify any possible pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Included in the course:
• The difference between volunteers and other categories of people in an organisation
• The impact of the Equality Act 2010;
• The most likely areas of any legal challenge
• Issues to consider in your documentation, routines and recognition/reward
Who should attend
Anyone who has, or is expecting to have, responsibility for recruiting/managing volunteers in their organisation. Your organisation should be providing a service in Fife.
This event is free to attend but to encourage attendance and try and ensure a good turnout to benefit all delegates, we need you to give us at least 48 hours of any cancellation.
Notes from the session will be sent to all participants who complete a post-training evaluation.
