News/Events Category: General NewsToday marks the first day of 16 Days of Action against Gender-Based Violence (25 November - 10 December 2021). We have shared some key pieces of research and resources to support this campaign:
- Fife Women's Aid is running a Christmas appeal to raise funds and gather gifts for women and children affected by domestic abuse;
- Fife Women's Aid's Join the Dot service provides support for children, young people (up to the age of 18), and families in Fife who have experienced domestic abuse;
- Fife Violence Against Women Partnership's Training Programme 2021 contains organised learning opportunities across a range of subjects relating to gender-based violence and delivered through a variety of methods including e-learning and webinars;
- Did you know that victims of domestic abuse who live in rural areas experience abuse that lasts on average 25% longer than those living in urban areas? Find out more here.
- Transgender victims & survivors experience specific types of abuse that can be linked to their trans identities - explore this briefing developed by SafeLives for more information.
- Listen to "16 Days of Action" a podcast, recorded by the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities, on the experiences of women with learning disabilities with gender-based violence.
