  • Barnardo’s Boloh Helpline - now supporting adult asylum seekers across the UK

    Created: 16/11/2021

Barnardo’s Boloh Helpline (0800 151 2605) has announced the expansion of its service to support the mental health and wellbeing of adult asylum seekers across the UK. This project is funded by the Home Office and is in addition to its current service that offers support to children, young people and their parents.

The Helpline (open Monday – Friday (10:00 - 20:00) and Saturday (10:00 - 15:00) via phone, webchat, and e-mail)will offer advice, signposting, emotional support, and eight free sessions of therapy by qualified therapists. These sessions can take place remotely via telephone or online. It has a large pool of culturally informed therapists who speak a range of languages. Sessions can take place in your own language at a time that works for you.

Helpline Advisors can also offer practical support such as food vouchers and access to digital devices.  It will continue with its co-partnership with Vodafone to ensure that asylum seekers can access support by providing refurbished tablets and mobile phones.

Professionals can make a referral to the Helpline here.
