FVA Lunchtime Learning sessions to support third sector in Fife

FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local third sector providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

Participants at this session will hear about key strands of government funding available to help you and your organisation invest in skills development for new and existing staff, as well as volunteers.

The Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) is a Scottish Government initiative that enables employers to address priority skills, and skills gaps, in their organisation by accessing funding to create training programmes that meet their needs. These programmes can be delivered in partnership with their local college, the Open University in Scotland (OUiS) or an independent training provider.

Skills Development Scotland run Skills for Growth which can provide you with a specialist adviser who can help assess your staff skills and offer advice and guidance on how best to fill the gaps to meet your organisations needs now and in the future, as well as coordinating a whole host of apprenticeship opportunities through a variety of partners.

At this session, Miles Lagan - Head of Business Development at Fife College and Kathryn Hill, Employer Engagement Adviser from Skills Development Scotland will join us to tell us about:

    • The Flexible Workforce Development Fund, what it is and what it's key objectives are
    • The key Workforce Development Fund delivery partners: Colleges, Open University and private training providers
    • What Fife College training offer, eligibility, timescales & how to apply
    • The Skills for Growth programme, and how it can help your organisation
    • The 'Apprenticeship Family' and how you can get involved
