Career Ready - Funding for 3rd sector orgs to host a 4-week internship.
Career Readyare a national charity that support young people leaving school or moving from 5th to 6th year into future employment by supporting paid internships in organisations across the UK for a period of 4 weeks over the school summer holidays.
This provides young people with the opportunity to have direct experience of the workplace before embarking on their working life, helping them develop the confidence, skills and resilience they need for the world of work.
Career Ready have successfully secured funding from the Scottish Government and Heriot Watt University to help engage more micros, SMEs and third sector organisations as Career Ready supporters through funding help with the summer internship pay for next year's internship period - which will run from:
27 June 2022 – 22 July 2022
.This means that the salary costs for the intern ordinarily incurred by the host organisations would be paid for directly by Career Ready / Scottish Government.
Career Ready need over 60 organisations in Scotland who can sign up to this challenge over the next 6 weeks and would like to place up to 6 interns in Fife's third sector organisations for next year's Career Ready internship period.
If you would like to help a young person get direct experience of the workplace and have staff with experience of mentoring young people to build confidence and resililence, please find out more at Career Ready's Scotland webpage, or by e-mail: [email protected], or e-mail Sandy Mackenzie, FVA's Employability Development Officer: [email protected].
