Join in with an uplifting new project for people in Fife living with dementia
Created: 26/08/2021The Byre Theatre, in collaboration with Scottish Opera and the Laidlaw Music Centre in St Andrews, brings Memory Spinners to Fife this Autumn.
Weekly Memory Spinners sessions for people in Fife living with dementia, along with a companion, start in October 2021 at the new Laidlaw Music Centre in St Andrews.
Through fun music, songs, movement, storytelling and visual arts in eight weekly sessions, Memory Spinners offers an opportunity to relax, get creative, make new friends and find new ways to support each other. Participants share memories and develop ideas with friendly, experienced artists, which are then incorporated into an informal relaxed performance by all the participants for friends and family at the end of the programme.
For more information about Memory Spinners, please visit the Scottish Opera website. You can also watch this short film about Scottish Opera’s Glasgow Memory Spinners group.
Booking is available until Monday 13 September. Places are limited, and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. To book your place or discuss your needs, please phone 0141 332 9559.
