Social Enterprise Scotland's Bootcamp sessions: Pitching and proposals
Created: 02/07/2021Social Enterprise Scotland is running upcoming Bootcamps for anyone interested in supply chains and procurement and wants to learn about opportunities, pitching and proposals, policy and private sector engagement.
In this session of the Buy Social Scotland Corporate Challenge Bootcamp, Social Enterprise Scotland will be joined by Gillian Cameron from the Supplier Development Programme and Colin Downie of Wildhearts Group.
As Programme Manager at the Supplier Development Programme, Gillian will highlight the support on offer to social enterprise organisations. SDP was established in 2008 and is a partnership of local authorities, Scottish Government and other public bodies that work together to bring FREE support in all aspects of tendering to Scottish-based SMEs. While the focus of their work is on public sector contracting there are many lessons than can be taken in terms of writing proposals and bidding for work and understanding bidding processes from a sub-contractor perspective too.
Following on, participants will hear from Colin Downie. While Wildhearts are now part of the supply chain for a number of large companies this has not always been the case. As with all businesses Wildhearts have had to learn how to pitch, who their potential customers are and remain competitive to win business. Colin will generously share his experience of identifying the right opportunities and making sales.
