Young Scot, Keep Scotland Beautiful and YouthLink Scotland, supported by the Scottish Government, are looking for young people from across Scotland to join their exciting new Young Scot Climate Co-design Group – part of the Scottish Government’s official COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme.

What's the COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme?

The Scottish Government’s official COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme of events will make sure young people’s voices are heard as Scotland hosts COP26. The programme will run-up to and beyond the UN climate conference in November. It will include a range of online and in-person activities (where local and national restrictions allow), aimed at increasing young people’s awareness of climate change, and helping support other young people to take action too.

What's the Young Scot Climate Co-design Group?

YoungScot is recruiting young volunteers (aged 11-25) from all areas and communities across Scotland to design the programme – through its Young Scot Climate Co-design Group.

    The volunteering role will include:

    • Being supported to lead on the planning, communications and promoting the COP26 Local Champions Programme. The Local Champions will raise awareness of COP26 in communities across Scotland – highlighting local youth action and connecting young people to national opportunities.
    • Co-design a training programme for the Local Champions – ensuring they have the tools and resources to take learning into their communities to support further youth climate action.
    • Co-designing, running and curating this COP26 Scottish Youth Summit when a Scottish Youth Climate Declaration will be created.
    • Planning and implementing a legacy for the Scottish Youth Climate Partnership Programme.
