  • Scottish Ambulance Service mental health survey launch

    Created: 02/07/2021
    News/Events Category: General News

The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) is working with See Me, the national programme to end mental health discrimination, to look at how it responds to mental health emergencies.

The last year has been one like no other for our health care services, and it has also had a huge impact on the mental health of the nation.

As the impact of the pandemic and restrictions on the way we live our lives leads to more people struggling with their mental health, it is vital that the emergency services respond in a way that gives the best help and support to people experiencing a mental health crisis.

First responders believe it is essential to ensure they are supporting people struggling with their mental health fairly and without stigma. So it’s important that the Scottish Ambulance Service is doing everything it can to build trust with those who use the service.

Building on work from developing its strategy last year, SAS want to hear about your experiences and opinions on the Ambulance Service and how they support people in a mental health crisis.

You can fill out this short survey online now. There’s the opportunity to share your experiences, what support you expect to receive from the Scottish Ambulance Service, what support you have received in the past, the trust you have in the service, and what has changed for you during the pandemic.

Having the voices and experiences of people who have used the Scottish Ambulance Service is key to developing a service the works for everyone, now and in the future.
