  • Alzheimer Scotland National LGBT+ Carers for People with Dementia Online Peer Support Group

    Created: 02/07/2021
    News/Events Category: General News

Supporting someone to live well with dementia can have its challenges and at times we all need someone to talk to.

LGBT+ people are generally much less likely to seek out help, so Alzheimer Scotland has developed a safe space for people to come together, share experiences, and offer support and advice to each other.

The group facilitators will be Faye Smart, Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Advisor, who recently returned from a secondment working with LGBT Health and Wellbeing on its National Dementia Project, and Janine Adair, also an Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Advisor.

This National LGBT+ Carers Group is an online lunchtime group, held on Microsoft Teams on the first Wednesday of the month 12:30 - 13:30, and starts on Wednesday 04 August 2021.
