This particular event is free to attend, so no payment is required.

It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

This training session is for befriending services and/or projects that provide direct one-to-one and group support for clients and volunteers across Fife.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to attend the Good Conversations online training with a new team of Local Area Co-ordinators, Community Connectors, Link Workers, and Public Engagement Officers, all employed by Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with new colleagues.

The Good Conversations course will support you to ask your clients, volunteers, and colleagues important questions. It will equip you to give a voice to those who might otherwise not be heard or feel able to express what’s important to them.

This 3-day course is spread over a few weeks and it is important that delegates are able to attend all 3 days. Each day will be from 09.30 - 16.30 with several healthy breaks and will be interactive with time to practice skills. The sessions will take place on Microsoft Teams on the following dates:

    • 01 September 2021
    • 08 September 2021
    • 29 September 2021

Please remember to book a place on all three dates.

Good Conversations is an asset-based approach that asks important questions on areas such as hope, expectation, coping, and resilience, and seeks to explore a person’s own knowledge as well as identify what a person is already doing to help them move towards where they want to be.

By the end of this course participants will have:

    • Explored the values and beliefs which supports an outcomes, assets-based approach.
    • Reflected on their understanding of facilitative and enabling approaches.
    • Been introduced to outcomes focussed conversations and a range of flexible and person-centred conversational strategies and techniques.
    • Become aware of a shift from listening to problems in order to fix to, listening to problems in order to acknowledge, discover signs of resilience, identify coping behaviour and possible evidence of already existing solutions.
    • Explored how to respond to situations that require negotiation.

We will have a first come first serve approach with this training and will only have room for approx 8-10 participants. If more participants apply, we will create a reserve list in case of cancellations. If you have any questions, please contact Michaela.
