    Hours: 35 Hours a week, 09:00 - 17:00 

    Contract: 18 months

    Location: Craig Mitchell House, Flemington Rd, Glenrothes KY7 5QF

    Based in Citizens Advice and Rights Fife's (CARF) head office in Glenrothes, this is a fantastic opportunity for a confident individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is looking to commence their career within a growing organisation. CARF has 6 front facing offices providing information, advice and support to the citizens of Fife as well as teams dealing with Money Advice and Client Representation at tribunal. You will gain valuable experience in a wide range of tasks as a trainee adviser whilst working for a period in each department. Suitable apprenticeship opportunity for a school leaver, ideally 16-24 year old.

    Job Description:

    A typical day would start at 09:00 and finish at 17:00 with an hour for lunch however we do operate a flexi-time scheme. The tasks you would be involved with include:

    • Delivering excellent customer service through the provision of advice whilst complying with General Data Protection Regulations.
    • Providing a first point of contact experience either via telephone, web-chat, video-conferencing or face-to-face.
    • Information researching.
    • Problem Solving.
    • Ensuring all internal IT systems are updated and maintained with accurate and up to date information.
    • Diary management including making appointments.
    • Making referrals to other departments within CARF and to external organisations/partners.
    • Quality of advice checking for other colleagues.
    • General admin duties

    Once you have completed your Apprenticeship, you may be given the opportunity to continue in your role or progress onto an alternative support role within CARF.

    Required Skills;

    • Ideally you will have at least Nat 4 English, Nat 4 Maths and another Nat 4 qualification possibly Administration/Business Management or ICT.
    • Have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
    • Be organised and pay great attention to detail.
    • Recognise the need for confidentiality.
    • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
    • Have good IT and keyboard skills.
    • Be a team player ready for a challenge.
    • Be interested in the work of CARF, customer service and advice-giving.
    • Have an understanding, non-judgemental nature.
    • Be responsible, helpful and hard working with a positive outlook and a willingness to learn.
